The chapel of the Mexican architect Alberto Kalach and his architectural office TAX is one of the reconstruction projects in Jojutla, organized by the institution Infonavit (Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers). The chapel has great symbolic power, especially as a reconstruction project after a major earthquake. It should offer the people of Jojutla a place of remembrance, prayer and, thanks to its strong structure, protection from the next earthquake. The project was originally conceived alongside the project of the primary school by the same architect.

The red chapel has a timeless appearance, its shape being the result of a well thought-out geometry. The strong colours in combination with the incident light and the thick, protective walls create a unique atmosphere in the interior.
